It’s well over 100 years old. Any suggestions for cleaning products that are safe for old varnish and worn wood? Yes I will get a cushion for the seat.

I wouldn’t ruin the original finish, people always regret that. I would try linseed oil, we used it on the sailing ships I used to volunteer with. I think they used some Howard products to clean some things.

I use lemon oil on old furniture/wood (including that in the fintail ), brings it back to life a little, and smells good.
